About
Always interested in art and music, I began screen printing in 2004 to make gig posters for the shows my friends and I were booking as the Fanclub Collective at Cornell University. Early posters include shows by the Arcade Fire, The Decemberists, and Mt. Eerie. Recently I have concentrated on art prints, which can frequently be seen in shows around Philadelphia, PA, where I live.
I always try to explore new concepts and experiment with combining and reinterpreting my favorite design styles: from the postcards of the Wiener Werkstätte and posters of the WPA, to children’s book illustrations and pulp covers of the 60s. While I use Illustrator to work out layouts and the technical aspects of the prints, I redraw all the layers with brush and ink to give the prints a life that vector illustrations typically lack.
